How much cooler do those black outdoor screens make the house?

do they keep the house warmer or cooler in winter? how do they work? How much cooler do those black outdoor screens make the house?
I would think they'd make the house warmer just based on the fact that their black. But you said they were screens? what are you talking about? Please articulate! How much cooler do those black outdoor screens make the house?
The black mesh screens for screened in porches cuts down the amount of rays entering the area. The big thing that helps keep the house cooler, are porches in general. The more of an overhang around the house, the cooler it will be. It becomes a shaded buffer where the air that's actually touching the house is cooler, and it also keeps directed sunlight from entering the house.
Im not really sure what you are talking about, but if thay are a screen or mesh then they will block out alot of sunlight. This would keep a house cooler in the sumer and colder in the winter.

The best use of them is to close them in the summer and open them in the winter for the best efficiency.

Now if you are talking about something else, in general black things will absorb the suns rays and stay hot, which is great for some things and not for others, it all depends on the application and the region you live.
VERY MUCH COOLER. I live in the CA central valley (upper 100's in the summer) and A LOT of people have them and they do indeed work. the only down side is..well they are BLACK. My solution was to put up awnings on the South and West Windows same effect no black windows
