This is a new double window but with a full screen so when putting in the AC unit I need to actually remove it not just slide it up. Yet there are no release tabs inside or out; do I need to remove all the screws on the outside framing? I think there is an easier way but I am not sure what it is?I need to remove the screen from a new window on my house?
The screen may be able to slide up inside its track so that the bottom pulls out.
If that doesn't work, get the screwdriver.I need to remove the screen from a new window on my house?
If the screen itself has screws running thru it, then yes, you'd need to remove those screws.... BUT... if the screws are thru the window frame, then removing them will NOT help get the screen loose. Since windows are considered to be a 'secondary emergency exit' by known building codes, I highly doubt your screen is screwed in place.
Most modern screens are held in placy by a pair of springs at the top corners (for windows that slide up and down), or the side corners (for windows that slide left to right). Pushing the screen frame towards those springs will lift it enough that it will slide out of the slot at the opposite end.
For example, with a double hung window (sliding up and down).. you could lower the top sash enough so that you could get your fingers under the top of the screen frame, and push up. This will lift the screen enough, that you can push the bottom out of the track holding it in place.
If you want to try to do this from outside, then I find a nail puller comes in handy... simply slip it under the bottom edge of the screen, and pry it upwards. Some screens fit tighter than others, but they should all be able to removed in this fashion. A flat bladed screwdriver will work in a pinch too, but Ive found the tack/staple puller, with its slight angle at the tip, works better. Here is a link to one I use - http://www.acehardware.com/product/index鈥?/a>
Good Luck
Why don't you just call the people who insralled the window?
try pushing the screen to one side it should come out not up and down
