Will I get that investment back when I sell? Home is in central Florida. Thank you :o)If I add a $4000 screen room to my home, what kind of value will that add to my overall house value?
Call the realtor that sold you the home. They know it and how the room will improve the home or not.
They will go over this with you as part of the service that they gave when you purchased through them.If I add a $4000 screen room to my home, what kind of value will that add to my overall house value?
It depends on the buyer of your home. If someone buying your home values that scree porch than yes you may get that back. If it is a neccessity to have a screen porch in order to sell your home, than you might not get your investment back, but it will help you sell your house in the end.
Most improvements add more cost than they do value. I live in Iowa and have a woodburning stove that costs $2,500 installed will add a decent percentage of value to the selling price. But, if I installed a $40,000 pool with landscaping and a nice deck, that might not add any value at all.
It's up to the buyers and the environmetn.
No mush!
no. unless you aim the house at someone who truely appreciates it, and that kind of person would be hard to find... i wouldnt do it.
If the room you add can be used at least three seasons of the year because of wind and sun conditions and is attractive, well planned out and skilfully joined to the home it will increase your home's value enough to pay for the investment and to the right buyer, a lot more.
Home improvements always add to the resell value of your home, just sometimes, not as much as the initial cost of the improvement. Go to a site, such as www.realtor.com and check the prices on the homes around you, the biggest mistake people make, is ';overbuilding'; in their area. For instance.....if you put a 1/2 million dollar home, in an area, where the homes run $50,000, you have overbuilt, and typically your home wouldn't bring what it should.
